에르덴 왕국의 동쪽에는 사람들이 함부로 들어가지 못하는 거대한 숲이 있었다.

To the east of the Kingdom of Erden, there was a massive forest that people could not enter carelessly.

그 숲은 수백 년 전부터 "용의 숲"이라고 불려 왔다.

That forest had been called the "Dragon Forest" for hundreds of years.

사람들은 숲속에 잠들어 있는 검은 용이 분노하면 세상이 멸망할 것이라고 믿고 있었다.

People believed that if the black dragon sleeping in the forest became enraged, the world would be destroyed.

루나는 어릴 때부터 그 전설에 강한 관심을 가지고 있었다.

Luna had been deeply interested in that legend since childhood.

"정말 용이 존재한다면 왜 아무도 그 이유를 알려고 하지 않는 걸까…"

"If dragons really exist, why does nobody try to learn the reason...?"

어느 비가 내리던 밤 루나는 마을 밖에서 이상한 노랫소리를 들었다.

One rainy night, Luna heard a strange singing sound outside the village.

그 노래는 마치 누군가를 부르는 것처럼 슬프고 아름다웠다.

The song was sad and beautiful, as though it were calling someone.

"설마… 용의 노래인가?"

"Could it be... the dragon's song?"

호기심을 참지 못한 루나는 결국 숲으로 향했다.

Unable to suppress her curiosity, Luna eventually headed into the forest.

숲속은 생각보다 훨씬 조용했다.

The inside of the forest was far quieter than she expected.

바람조차 멈춘 듯한 분위기 속에서 노랫소리만 점점 가까워졌다.

In an atmosphere where even the wind seemed to have stopped, only the singing grew closer.

얼마나 걸었을까.

How long had she walked?

루나는 거대한 호수 앞에 도착했다.

Luna arrived before a gigantic lake.

그리고 호수 한가운데에서 검은 용이 천천히 고개를 들어 올리고 있었다.

And in the middle of the lake, a black dragon was slowly raising its head.

루나는 두려움에 몸이 굳어 버렸지만 이상하게도 도망치고 싶지는 않았다.

Luna's body froze in fear, yet strangely she did not want to run away.

"인간이 이곳까지 찾아온 것은 오랜만이군."

"It has been a long time since a human came this far."

용의 목소리는 천둥처럼 무거웠지만 어딘가 외로워 보였다.

The dragon's voice was heavy like thunder, but somehow sounded lonely.

"당신이… 정말 세상을 멸망시킬 용인가요?"

"Are you really the dragon that will destroy the world?"

용은 잠시 침묵하더니 낮게 웃었다.

The dragon fell silent for a moment and then laughed quietly.

"인간들은 언제나 두려워하는 이야기를 만들어 내지."

"Humans always create stories they fear."

"나는 오히려 인간들을 지켜 왔느니라."

"Rather, I have been protecting humans."

루나는 믿기지 않는다는 표정으로 용을 바라보았다.

Luna stared at the dragon with an expression of disbelief.

"하지만 사람들은 당신을 괴물이라고 생각해요."

"But people think of you as a monster."

"그렇기 때문에 나는 계속 홀로 남아 있어야 했지."

"Because of that, I had to remain alone."

그 순간 루나는 용이 왜 슬픈 노래를 부르고 있었는지 깨달았다.

At that moment, Luna realized why the dragon had been singing such a sad song.

"제가 당신의 이야기를 사람들에게 전하겠습니다."

"I will tell your story to the people."

용은 놀란 눈빛으로 루나를 바라보았다.

The dragon looked at Luna with a surprised gaze.

"인간이 내 말을 믿어 주겠느냐?"

"Would humans really believe my words?"

루나는 천천히 미소를 지었다.

Luna smiled slowly.

"적어도 저는 믿으니까요."

"At least I believe you."
