명절이 되면 우리 가족은 할머니 댁에 모여요. 할머니가 만드는 음식이 정말 맛있어요. 저는 항상 그날이 기다려지고 설레요.

When the holiday comes, our family gathers at grandmother's house. The food grandmother makes is really delicious. I always look forward to that day and feel excited.

할머니는 새벽부터 일어나서 음식을 준비하세요. 재료를 다듬고 요리하는 손이 정말 빠르세요. 저도 옆에서 도와드렸어요.

Grandmother wakes up from early morning and prepares the food. Her hands trimming ingredients and cooking are really fast. I helped her by her side too.

저는 채소를 썰고 만두 반죽을 빚었어요. 처음에는 모양이 이상했어요. 하지만 할머니가 예쁘다고 칭찬해 줬어요.

I sliced vegetables and shaped the dumpling dough. At first the shape was strange. But grandmother praised me saying it was pretty.

할머니가 전을 부쳤어요. 기름 냄새가 온 집안에 퍼졌어요. 그 냄새를 맡으면 어릴 때 기억이 났어요.

Grandmother fried jeon pancakes. The smell of oil spread throughout the whole house. Smelling that scent brought back childhood memories.

음식이 다 준비되자 가족이 모두 식탁에 둘러앉아서 먹기 시작했어요. 국물이 진하고 맛있었어요. 할머니의 손맛이 느껴졌어요.

When all the food was ready the whole family sat around the table and started eating. The broth was rich and delicious. I could feel grandmother's personal touch.

할머니가 어릴 때 젓가락질을 가르쳐줬던 것이 생각났어요. 그때가 그리웠어요. 함께 있는 시간이 정말 소중했어요.

I remembered when grandmother taught me to use chopsticks when I was little. I felt nostalgic for that time. The time spent together was truly precious.

식사가 끝난 후 할머니가 레시피를 알려줬어요. 저는 노트에 하나하나 적었어요. 이 맛을 꼭 이어받을 것이라고 다짐했어요.

After the meal grandmother shared the recipes. I wrote them down one by one in my notebook. I resolved that I would definitely inherit this taste.

집으로 돌아오는 길에 마음이 따뜻했어요. 할머니의 음식에는 사랑이 담겨 있다는 걸 느꼈어요. 다음 명절이 벌써 기다려졌어요.

On the way home my heart was warm. I felt that grandmother's food contained love. I was already looking forward to the next holiday.
